Heluna Antiphishing Features
Heluna helps prevent identity theft by testing each e-mail sent to you through a variety of measures. Most commonly, identity theft attempts through e-mail get classified as a virus and immediately removed. Additionally, Heluna verifies that the originating e-mail server is owned by the domain sending you e-mail; if it is not, the message gets treated like a message that is definitely spam.
Well-known Fraud and Scam Prevention
In addition to preventing phishing attempts, Heluna also filters out such e-mails as Nigerian 419 scams, lottery ticket scams, and other high-profile fraudulent e-mails. E-mail destined for your domain that matches certain parameters which point to a fraudulent message get automatically filtered as definitely spam as well.
Dictionary Attack Prevention
Many phishers and spammers simply attempt to send e-mail to a large amount of well-known addresses at your domain (eg "info@domain.com" or "help@domain.com" etc) within a very short amount of time. This is known as a dictionary attack, and Heluna helps prevent these attacks against your e-mail servers by caching a list of valid addresses for your domain. Once a phisher or spammer tries to send e-mail to a few invalid addresses, their e-mail connection gets reduced to a snail's pace, which many spam mailers simply disconnect from.
Timely Antiphishing Updates
The antiphishing filters update hourly, with additional major updates happening nightly. Heluna is always checking the sender's identity, so you can be sure that the sender is who they claim to be.
